On Saturday May 21st, 2011 the community Karate program held its first annual American Bushido-Kai Karate Tournament. This was a great event that brought together over 30 participants, and allowed for our local community of White Mountain to see the progress of our students, and to support our Karate program.

This tournament was put on by the White Mountain Chief Instructor Clint Shultz, with the overwhelming support of the President of the ABKA Denny Holzbauer and his assistant instructor Christa Bailey. Each student performed their belt level form or Kata, and competed in sparring. We had wonderful competition from all age levels, with four students taking home the “Most Outstanding Karateka Award” which was a hand made trophy presented by Sensei Holzbauer. Every student who participated in the tournament received a medal and a gift from Denny and Christa. We our thankful for the support of White Mountain, the ABKA, and the hard work of each and every student.
